Kamala Harris questioned over not going to US-Mexico border

US vice-president Kamala Harris has brushed off questions about her decision not to go to the US-Mexico border as part of her work to address the spike in migration. Harris, who was asked about the issue during visits to Mexico and Guatemala, said: ‘I’ve been to the border before and I will go again, but when I’m in Guatemala dealing with root causes, I think we should have a conversation about what is going on in Guatemala’, Harris said. Republican lawmakers have criticised her for not prioritising the shared frontier

  2. Root causes in Guatemala. No no last time I checked that’s not a part of our country the root causes are at the border where you are letting drugs be smuggled in and you want to look the other way.

  3. I can't speak for anyone else, but I, personally, am waiting to see a reporter posing a question to the Vice President, for her to interrupt the reporter, and for that reporter to put his finger in the air, put one of those famous "I'll tear your throat out" smiles Kamala is famous for, and begin shouting, "Excuse me. Excuse me. Pardon me. I'm not finished speaking yet. Thank you."

  4. Unfit for office. Every office she's held she has been unfit. Her resume proves the point. She can't hold a position for a lengthy period of time right before she gets exposed, then runs to the next gig. She's a wuss. She let Schumer shush on national television. Harris talks a big game but she's weak.

  5. She doesnt want to visit the border because it helps her pokitically to not address the situation and allow more and more people into the country that will be given the right to vote for her or her party, depending on where they are sent.

  6. Wow. Did The Guardian just drop a video implying an ultra left politician has been negligent on her duties? I am amazed and beside myself. You've virtually nearly been impartial and balanced there. Wonder if it made in into the paper though?

  7. The reporters are playing softball with her. She is living in a post-senator reality, and is so nervous about the present reality that her answers doesn't even make sense. Bring in a Fifth-grader to do her job and Im sure it would work better.

  8. Why go to the border and highlight a self inflicted disaster? Especially one that wasn't there when the last guy left office (whose policies you criticised but were actually left overs from Obama…) 😉

  9. Of course she should go to the border, it is best to do it at night and wear camouflage gear. That should keep the republicans happy, err, probably not.
